Abstract
Se nos encarga encontrar problemáticas para abordar y solucionar desde un proyecto arquitectónico en Isla de Pascua. Hasta aquí todo parecía normal de un taller de carrera. El profesor muy pro-activo nos hecho una mano adicional y entregó 5 o 6 tesis que abordaban algunos de estas probables problemáticas. Las leímos todas, muy contingentes, pero había algo extraño, había algo de banalidad en cada uno de esos trabajos e investigaciones en ese lugar tan lejano que no encajaba y no sabíamos que era hasta ese momento, y no por que fueran malos trabajos de investigación, y aquí cometimos el mejor error de todos. Buscamos otra fuente de problemáticas, pero no desde un origen arquitectónico. Y sin predefinir que tipo de fuente elegiríamos, encontramos muchas, pero a través de una Tesis para optar al grado de académico de magíster en Patrimonio llamada “Reconstruyendo la aldea ceremonial de Orongo” fuimos cautivados por una mirada que nos apretó el rostro diciéndonos que a través de la ciencia debíamos buscar las verdaderas problemáticas que importaban en esta isla. Y al poco andar ya ni su nombre era el mismo, sino “Rapa Nui”. Sus problemas ya no eran sus vías con hoyos, ni el tratamiento de residuos, ni equipamiento marítimo ni vehicular, la dependencia al continente, ni la sobre carga generada por el turismo y etc., su problema estructural es la no puesta en valor de su identidad, a la hora de tomar decisiones respecto a todo lo que ocurre y ocurrirá en Rapa Nui, son una simple comuna más de Chile continental. Muchas son las aristas que podrían ser una problemática de éste lugar y una de ellas, y la menos mencionada, es que son una civilización en sí misma, son mucho más de lo que siempre ha visto un estado distante, no simples escultores megalitos, fueron ellos quienes realmente descubrieron éste frágil lugar. Y es en ellos en quienes concentraremos la solución a sus problemáticas y ellos quienes inspiran este conjunto de proyectos.

Abstract
We are in charge of finding problems to address and solve from an architectural project on Easter Island. So far everything seemed normal for a race workshop. The very proactive professor gave us an additional hand and delivered 5 or 6 theses that addressed some of these probable problems. We read them all, very contingent, but there was something strange, there was some vanity in each of those works and investigations in that place so far away that it didn't fit and we didn't know what it was until then, and not because they were bad research works., and we made the best mistake of all. We look for another source of problems but not from an architectural origin. And without predefining what type of source we would choose, we found many, but through a Thesis to qualify for a Master's degree in Heritage called "Rebuilding the ceremonial village of Orongo" we were captivated by a look that squeezed our faces telling us that through science we had to look for the problems that mattered on this island. And shortly after walking, not even his name was the same, but "Rapa Nui".
Their problems were no longer their roads with holes, or waste treatment, or maritime or vehicular equipment. Dependence on the continent, nor the overload generated by tourism and etc... Their structural problem is not valuing their identity, when making decisions regarding everything that happens and will happen in Rapa Nui, they are just another commune of continental Chile.
There are many edges that could be a problem in this place and one of them, and the least mentioned, is that they are a civilization in itself, they are much more than what a distant state has always seen, not just megalithic sculptors. They were the ones who really discovered this fragile place. And it is in them that we will concentrate the solution to their problems and they who inspire this set of projects.
