Abstract
Resulta importante visibilizar que hay una significativa población femenina que desempeña el rol de bombera realizando una relevante contribución para la comunidad. Desde esta perspectiva surge la incertidumbre por conocer qué motiva a las mujeres a realizar esta labor voluntaria, e insertarse en las compañías de Bomberos de Santiago de Chile, correspondientes a las comunas de La Pintana y Ñuñoa. El diario La Tercera en el año 2023, informó que la institución recibió un récord de 5.808 nuevos postulantes. Mondaca (2024). El estudio se realizó con una metodología cualitativa, que permite describir y analizar las experiencias de vida de una muestra de seis participantes. Se busca contribuir en la identificación de las motivaciones, bajo un enfoque humanista. En relación al estudio este se lleva a cabo mediante la entrevista semiestructurada, arrojando como resultado la presencia de motivaciones intrínsecas y extrínsecas que median en la labor de las voluntarias.

Abstract
It is important to make visible that there is a significant female population that plays the role of firefighter, making a relevant contribution to the community. From this perspective, uncertainty arises about knowing what motivates women to carry out this voluntary work, and join the Firefighters companies of Santiago de Chile, corresponding to the communes of La Pintana and Ñuñoa. The newspaper La Tercera in 2023 reported that the institution received a record of 5,808 new applicants. Mondaca (2024). The study was carried out with a qualitative methodology, which allows describing and analyzing the life experiences of a sample of six participants. It seeks to contribute to the identification of motivations, under a humanistic approach. In relation to the study, it is carried out through a semi-structured interview, resulting in the presence of intrinsic and extrinsic motivations that mediate the work of the volunteers.
